Three Ways To Get Out Of Debt Permanently

We all have setbacks in life, it happens, especially when it comes to our financial affairs. However, this does not mean we have to stop living. It does not mean we just have to accept it and it definitely does not mean we should ignore it. The solution to our financial problems is to deal with it head on, do what we have to do, and get out of debt for good. Although it sounds good, it does not mean it is easy. No, in fact, it takes a lot of willpower, self-control, and self-discipline to make it work.

With that being said, let us have a look at three ways you can get out of debt and stay out of debt.

Get Out Of Debt Tip #1 – Stop the foolish spending. Yes, I know, it is easier said that done, especially when that great deal just jumps out at you and screams "BUY ME". However, the only way to eliminate your debt is by controlling your spending. Do you absolutely need a new car or are you just bored with the old one? Do not buy things just because you want them, make sure there is an absolute need.

Get Out Of Debt Tip #2 – Talk yourself out of it. Yes, the above tip is especially hard. One way to go about this stopping the spending is to think of it this way. If while you are standing there thinking to yourself that you must have that item, if you can find even one negative reason for buying the item, do not do it. Turn around and walk around. Yes, easier said than done. The key here is if you can come up with one negative with that item such as, "if I buy this I won’t have the money to pay this" or "the old one works still, do I really need it", you need to talk yourself out of that purchase.

Get Out Of Debt Tip #3 – Leave the cards at home. Oh this is a big one, it probably should have been first. Do not keep your credit cards in your purse or wallet. These provide you easy access to money you otherwise would not have. Keep them at home, put it in a safe, in your desk, in your drawer, or even in the freezer. If the cards are kept at home and you see an item you THINK you need, you will have to drive home to get it. This essentially gives you time to think about the first two tips, do I need it, or do I want it? Will this purchase set me back financially? By the time you get home, you will have likely talked yourself out of that purchase.

These three tips are extremely helpful in your efforts to get out of debt and stay out of debt for good.
